More than just a dog walk…

Barks & Recreation is a community wellbeing programme that supports adults who have a learning disability to build confidence, improve their physical and mental wellbeing, and develop greater independence through walking dogs.

Since 2015, our small, dedicated team has been running structured dog walking sessions in the Preston (Lancashire) area, creating opportunities for people to take part in meaningful outdoor activity while building routine, responsibility and social connection.

Local dog owners are invited to support the programme so their dogs can enjoy regular, well-managed walks while helping create purposeful and rewarding sessions for the people who attend.
